The South African unit of steel giant ArcelorMittal (MT) said Tuesday it has invoked force majeure provisions with its customers because only very limited deliveries of iron ore and coal are being received due to an ongoing transportation strike.

ArcelorMittal South Africa Ltd. (ACL.JO) said it is also considering measures to minimize the impact of raw bunker failure at its Saldanha works.

Thousands of workers at Transnet Ltd., which operates the country's ports, pipelines and freight rail network, are into the second week of a wage strike.
