South Korea will be holding a meeting of global business leaders in November in Seoul to discuss private-sector issues and their role in governments-led efforts to achieve sustainable and balanced growth, with their recommendations to be made to the group of 20 leading nations summit, according to organizers Thursday.

The Seoul business summit, to be held Nov. 10-11, will gather about 80 chief executives of big companies from G-20 member nations and 20 business leaders from non-member countries, the Korean organizing committee said in a statement.

"The current global economic recovery is being led by public sector and the G-20 has played a certain role in this. From now, the private sector needs to contribute in this endeavor," Sakong Il, chairman of Seoul's presidential committee for the G-20 summit, told a media briefing. "We hope the business summit will continue along with the G-20 summits."

South Korea chairs the G-20 summit Nov. 11-12.

Business leaders will discuss four major issues--trade and investment, green growth, finance, and corporate social responsibility, according to the statement.

The results of those discussions will be reported and recommended to the Seoul G-20 summit, it said.

Among captains of industry that have confirmed their participation are Lakshmi Mittal, chairman of ArcelorMittal; Qualcomm Inc. Chief Executive Paul Jacobs; Christophe de Margerie, chairman of Total S.A .; Anne Lauvergeon, chief executive of Areva S.A.; and Vale S.A. Chief Executive Roger Agnelli.

Participants from the financial industry include Josef Ackermann, chairman of Deutsche Bank; HSBC Holdings PLC Chairman Stephen Green; Standard Chartered PLC Chief Executive Peter Sands; and Citigroup Inc. Chief Executive Vikram Pandit, according to the organizers.
