The chairman of Russian aluminum giant UC Rusal Ltd (0486.HK) Wednesday said a tie-up with arctic metals company OAO Norilsk Nickel (GMKN.RS) isn't immediately on the cards and that the timing and details of how to take advantage of such an "option" remain open.

Victor Vekselberg was speaking at a press conference in Paris to discuss the company's new dual-share listing in Hong Kong and Paris.
