NYSE Euronext Names Peter Leukert as Global Chief Information Officer

NYSE Euronext (NYX), a leading global operator of financial
markets and provider of innovative trading technologies, today
announced the appointment of Peter Leukert as Global Chief
Information Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Leukert will lead
NYSE Euronext’s global Information Technology operations and will
report to President and Deputy CEO, Dominique Cerutti.
As Global CIO, Mr. Leukert will bring his extensive experience
to the continued transformation of NYSE Euronext and its IT
operating model.
Since 2007, Mr. Leukert has been CIO of Commerzbank, in charge
of all applications and IT infrastructure, including a technology
group comprising 3,800 employees. Prior to that, he worked for
McKinsey since 1994 where he became a partner in 2001. There he led
the development and implementation of IT strategies and projects at
major financial organizations and government agencies.

About Peter Leukert
As CIO of Commerzbank, Germany’s second-largest bank, Mr.
Leukert co-led the integration of Dresdner Bank into Commerzbank,
which was successfully completed in May 2011, just 1,000 days after
the announcement in August 2008. This integration allows
Commerzbank to deliver 2.4 billion euros of annual cost
savings.
At McKinsey, he worked predominantly for financial service
providers, capital markets and the public sector. His consultancy
work was focused mainly on IT and operations management. He is
co-author of the book, "Successful IT Management in the Public
Sector." Mr. Leukert has a Ph.D. in financial mathematics from
Huboldt Universität zu Berlin.
