The company introduced or announced general availability of more than a dozen new products at InfoComm 2010, including new professional projectors for a wide range of venues, new LCD and 3D-capable large format plasma displays, a new business-rugged Toughbook® mobile computer and a host of solutions for HD video acquisition and production.

Projectors for all Venues and Applications

Reflecting its ongoing commitment to innovation in professional projectors, Panasonic unveiled a wide range of new solutions for a variety of applications, from education to entertainment, hospitality to healthcare and public performance to public safety. These new Panasonic projectors offer customers a choice of resolutions and aspect ratios for a spectrum of fixed and mobile installations. New Panasonic projector products released at InfoComm include:

  • PT-DZ8700 Series: These three 3-chip DLP™ projectors for large-venue applications feature dramatically improved brightness and system expandability. The PT-DZ8700 series’ dual-lamp operation is tailor-made for continuous operation, such as in the hospitality industry or in mission-critical applications such as command and control centers.
  • PT-ST10U LCD: Panasonic’s first entry into the short throw category, the PT-ST10U can project an impressive 80-inch diagonal image from just 2.7-feet away from the screen, allowing users to create big pictures in tight spaces such as small classrooms, conference rooms and trade show booths.
  • PT-LB2U LCD micro-portable: This LCD projector delivers 1024 x 768 XGA resolution and 2,600 lumens of brightness in a compact, ultra-light unit that is designed for effortless movement between locations.

A range of LCD and Full HD 3D Plasma Displays for Digital Signage

Purpose-built professional LCD and plasma displays are a cornerstone of Panasonic’s commitment to professional AV. Panasonic announced the following new professional displays at InfoComm 2010:

  • LF20 Series LCD: These Full-HD LCD displays, the TH-47LF20U and TH-42LF20U, are distinguished by their high brightness, slim design, light weight and durability. These 42” and 47” displays offer a wide range of features designed to deliver powerful performance in such demanding signage venues as shopping malls, public transportation and other commercial facilities.
  • TH Series Full HD 3D Plasmas: With availability announced for January 2011, these large format Full HD 3D plasma displays (the TH-152UX1, TH-103VX200U and TH-85VX200U), are designed for commercial, business and custom applications where immersive 3D dramatically intensifies the spectators’ experience. These 152-, 103- and 85-inch plasma displays deliver Full HD image resolution with vibrant, high-contrast images that deliver a real sense of depth and scope.

Reliable Notebook PCs for Professional Systems Contractors

Panasonic Toughbook® mobile computers are renowned for their reliability and depended upon by users who require access to data in a wide range of environments. In addition to highlighting the full range of reliable mobile and wireless notebook products at InfoComm, Panasonic announced the newest member of the Toughbook family:

  • Panasonic Toughbook® F9: The world’s lightest 14” class laptop features an Intel® Core™ i5 processor, 320GB HDD, high resolution (1440 x 900) widescreen display, optional Qualcomm Gobi2000™ mobile broadband and an integrated handle, making it ideal for systems contractors and installers who are constantly on the move. The Toughbook F9 is engineered and tested to withstand the bumps and spills of real-world mobility.

HD Video Acquisition and Production Solutions

Panasonic is also highlighting a number of its recently announced professional video solutions for the media and production services market, including:

  • HE50 Compact Pan/Tilt/Zoom Cameras: Generally available in June 2010, the sleek and compact HE50-series cameras combine outstanding image quality, smooth pan/tilt/zoom operation and easy integration for superior HD and SD production.
  • HS50 Sub-compact 10-Bit HD/SD Switcher: Available in July, 2010, this powerful, sub-compact switcher is designed for mobile production.
  • 50 Series IP Video Production System: Shipping in July 2010, the 50 Series camera, switcher and system controller is designed to deliver powerful performance in multiple remote locations.
  • AG-HMC80 Professional AVVCAM HD Camcorder: Panasonic’s first AVCHD camcorder to feature solid state DV as well as HD recording capabilities, the HMC80 is ideal for schools, event videographers, government facilities and corporate users who prefer shoulder-mounted cameras and need flexibility in connectivity and format. The device will be available in September, 2010.
  • AG-HMX100 Multi-format HD/SD Digital AV Mixer: With an array of interfaces, the HMX100 is designed to connect to virtually any camcorder or video source. Supporting SD, HD, and 3D professional formats, it will be generally available in August, 2010.
