Norwegian oil company Det Norske Oljeselskap ASA (DETNOR.OS) said Wednesday that an exploration well on the Isbjorn prospect in the North Sea is water-bearing.

 
   MAIN FACTS: 

-The drilling of the well will now continue to planned total depth, and the data acquisition will be completed as planned.

-The well is being drilled in the southern part of the North Sea, at an ocean depth of 83 meters.

-Talisman Energy (TLM) is the operator of the license, holding a 40% interest. Det norske has a 20% interest, and the other partners are Edison (EDN.MI)(10%) and Skagen 44 (10%).

-At 0823 GMT shares traded 0.8% lower at NOK87.30.
