Oct 11 (Reuters) - InPhonic Inc. (INPC.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said it is exploring strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the company and re-financing existing credit, to increase cash liquidity.
The online seller of wireless devices and services also said its third-quarter results were significantly below prior outlook. The company has been reporting losses for the past several quarters.
InPhonic shares crashed to their life-time low of 40 cents and were trading down about 75 percent at 50 cents in late-morning trade Thursday on the Nasdaq.
InPhonic said it requires funding to continue operations, and has hired Lazard Middle Market to address financing requirements, it added.
The Washington D.C.-based company also said it terminated its proposed supply chain services partnership with Brightstar Corp, under which it planned to sell its distribution, inventory and fulfilment assets to Brightstar, a distributor of wireless communications products.
