      BEA - Aker Maritime's acquisition of Kvaerner-shares postponed


According to previous agreement, Aker Maritime should take delivery of
Bergesen's shares in Kvaerner and pay the purchase money for the shares within
12th October 2000.

Due to requirement from the European union to approve Aker Maritime's
acquisition of the shares in Kvaerner, it has been agreed to extend the deadline
for taking delivery of the shares and settlement of the purchase money. Delivery
of the shares and settlement of the purchase money shall according to the
revised agreement take place within 19th December 2000.

The settlement is secured by bank guarantee.
