Significant high grade exploration results at Toka Tindung
Mine
Archipelago is pleased to announce a series of exceptional
drilling results from its high grade southern deposits, close to
infrastructure at the Toka Tindung Mine ("Toka Tindung") in North
Sulawesi, Indonesia.
HIGHLIGHTS
-- Archipelago's targeted near site exploration programme
continues to yield significant results at Toka Tindung (with
mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike). Within
the southern mineralised zone, assays have been received from 239
drill holes totalling 34,489m.
-- Encouraging drill intersections from the deeper mineralised
zones can be reported for the Kopra, Blambangan and Pajajaran
deposits (in addition to those previously announced at Blambangan
and Pajajaran on 9 July 2012). Highlights include:
-- Kopra (22 holes for 2,946m):
27m at 5.56g/t Au (KIP020, 169 - 196m)
9m at 5.32g/t Au (KIP012, 135 - 144m)
7m at 3.49g/t Au (KIP013, 122 - 129m)
8m at 4.72g/t Au (KIP013A, 146 - 154m)
-- Blambangan/Blambangan South(58 holes for 8,403m):

-- The results confirm the highly prospective nature of Toka
Tindung and indicate significant potential to extend Archipelago's
already substantial 2.58m oz Au Resource and 1.47m oz Au Reserve.
Drilling will continue over the remainder of the year and an
updated 'Resource & Reserve Statement' is expected to be
published in early 2013.
COMMENT
Commenting on the drill results, Marcus Engelbrecht, Managing
Director and CEO, said:
"Toka Tindung continues to demonstrate its potential as a
multi-million ounce mine deposit, with more excellent results from
our near site exploration programme. These results are extremely
exciting and again demonstrate the prospective nature of Toka
Tindung. Following our 2011 exploration programme, we were able to
increase the mine life by more than 50%. Combined with the results
reported earlier in the year, these high-grade intercepts now have
the potential to again materially increase our economically defined
gold resource, providing a further platform for growing our
production profile and increasing shareholder value."
SPECIFIC DETAILS
Toka Tindung involves mining from the main Toka pit and the four
southern satellite deposits of Pajajaran, Araren, Blambangan and
Kopra (all of which remain open at depth and along strike).
Located in close proximity to the central processing
infrastructure, the southern deposits are high grade and
prospective for further exploration activities. Amongst other
initiatives, Archipelago's 2012 exploration programme involves
further drilling at these known deposits in addition to the
adjacent mineralised zones of Semut Barat, Semut Timur and
Makassar. Please refer to Figure 1, which provides an overview of
prospect locations and Figure 2, which contains a summary of 2012
drilling at southern targets.

On-going drilling has produced some exceptional results across
the southern cluster of gold deposits and targets, including:
-- Kopra: 27m at 5.56g/t Au;
-- Blambangan: 3.1m at 49.76g/t Au (including 1m at 152g/t Au; 208 -209m);
-- Pajajaran: 13m at 9.44g/t Au (including 5m at 20.61g/t Au);
-- Semut Barat: 7m at4.28g/t Au;
-- Semut Timur: 4m at 6.91g/t Au; and
-- Makassar: 6m at 5.98gt Au).
Preliminary interpretation of the drill results from Pajajaran,
Blambangan and Kopra indicate the presence of high grade shoots at
moderate depths.
Parts of Semut Barat, Semut Timur and Makassar were included in
the Company's current Resource & Reserve for Kopra. However,
2012 drilling efforts have now improved Archipelago's understanding
of mineralisation at these targets, with potential to establish
separate resource estimates for each in due course.
A summary of significant intercepts appears below at Figure 3.
All intercepts greater than 1g/t Au are set out in Appendix A to
this announcement.

The results confirm the highly prospective nature of Toka
Tindung and indicate significant potential to add to Archipelago's
already substantial 2.58m oz Au Resource and 1.47m oz Au
Reserve.
For the remainder of the year, drilling will continue to target
the southern deposits as well as gold mineralisation along strike
from the main pit at Toka North. Further drilling is also underway
at the parallel mineralisation adjacent to the main pit at Toka
East. Updates will be provided in due course.

exploration results, together with any related assessments and
interpretations, have been verified by and approved for release by
Mr. Graeme Fleming B App Sc (Geol), MAusIMM, a qualified geologist
and full-time consultant for PT. Tambang Tondano Nusajaya, a

experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and
type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which he is
undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004
