CHARLES TAYLOR GROUP PLC 
                           
Charles  Taylor  Group plc ("Charles Taylor")  notes  the
contents  of  the  chairman's  statement  at  the  Horace
Clarkson PLC ("Clarkson") Annual General Meeting, and  in
particular,  Clarkson's proposals to make a tender  offer
to shareholders for a purchase of shares to a value of #8
million.   Charles Taylor continues to believe  that  its
proposals  present  exciting  opportunities  and  remains
disappointed  by  the refusal of the  Clarkson  board  to
enter into discussions.
 
Charles   Taylor   and  Howe  Robinson  Investments   are
currently  assessing the implications of  this  statement
with  their advisers and a further announcement  will  be
made in due course.
