                     ("Clipper Ventures" or the "Company")                     

                           Transaction in Own Shares                           

The Company announces that, pursuant to its general authority by shareholders
of the Company on 11 September 2007 to make market purchases of its own shares,
the Company acquired 200,000 Ordinary shares on 19 September 2007 at a price of
19.5 pence per ordinary share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury
shares.

Following the above purchase the Company now holds 200,000 ordinary shares as
treasury shares and the total number of ordinary shares in issue, excluding
shares held as treasury shares, is 38,992,942. Therefore the total number of
voting rights in Clipper Ventures Plc is 38,992,942.
