Tintra PLC said Wednesday that Paul James has been appointed as chief operating officer, and that although this isn't a board position he will be responsible for the operational rollout of its strategy.

The London-listed AI-focused fintech company said Mr. James has 25 years of experience in the financial services and banking sectors. The company said this included periods at HSBC Holdings PLC where he was divisional COO, and that he was the original COO at Starling Bank.

Shares at 0957 GMT were down 15 pence, or 7.1%, at 195 pence.
