New addition to the slate

Intandem blasts off with space epic Gagarin

Intandem Films, the London based international film group, announces that it has been appointed as exclusive sales agent on GAGARIN FIRST IN SPACE - a Russian language film about Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who became the first man in space in April 1961.

The $10million completed feature film, which is produced by Oleg Kapanets and Igor Tolstunov and directed by Pavel Parkhomenko, will be released next year - 80 years since he was born - and will have its first screening at the American Film Market next week (6(th) - 13(th) November), which is expected to be attended by over 8,000 industry leaders.

AFM is a major opportunity for Intandem where they will be selling a number of the films on their current slate including: Famous, a glitzy film from the producers of Oblivion; and Second Origin and Starbright, both sci-fi love stories.

GAGARIN FIRST IN SPACE will last 108 minutes - exactly the same amount of time that Gagarin spent in space orbiting earth, and will focus on his life reflections as well as the determination of the Russian space team and their efforts to conquer space. Gagarin was one of the first group of cosmonauts who were selected from over three thousand fighter pilots throughout the USSR. The legendary top twenty who were selected were the 'Aces of Aces' and one of the pilots amongst them would make history on the first manned flight.

Producer, Oleg Kapanets, commented:

"We are delighted to be working with Intandem to bring the thrilling true story of GAGARIN FIRST IN SPACE as a premiere screening at the American Film Market. People are increasingly fascinated by space travel as it becomes more of a reality in their lifetimes and this is the story of where it all began. It has been a major privilege and responsibility to make this film about one of the world's truly global icons and we are very proud to be able to tell his story. "

Robert Mitchell, CEO of Intandem Films, said:

"It is a real privilege to be working with Kremlin Films on such a prestigious movie as GAGARIN FIRST IN SPACE. The story of Gagarin's literal rise into the stratosphere is utterly compelling and inspiring and we hope, with his 80th Anniversary next year, this global icon's story will hold a special place in peoples' hearts. What makes the film even more intriguing is that it has a running time of 108 minutes - exactly the same time that Yuri Gagarin spent hurtling around the Earth at 20,000 mph in little more than a tin can."

About Intandem Films

Intandem Films plc (www.intandemfilms.com) is a London based international film company. It specialises in raising finance for commercial feature films and selling them to distributors around the world. Intandem closely manages the risk associated with the film industry and does not invest in the production of films from its own resources. Its highest profile film to date was How to Lose Friends and Alienate People starring Simon Pegg, Jeff Bridges and Megan Fox, for which Intandem raised the finance and sold the film to distributors such as Paramount, Warners and MGM.

About AFM

Founded in 1981, the American Film Market (AFM) quickly became the premiere global marketplace where Hollywood's decision-makers all gather under one roof. Unlike a film festival, the AFM is a marketplace where production and distribution deals are closed.

With 8,000 expected attendees, 700 screenings, and the industry's largest Conference Series, the event continues to be a pivotal destination for independent filmmakers and business people from all over the world.

Participants are expected from over 70 countries to include acquisition and development executives, agents, attorneys, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners, producers, writers, the world's press.

In just eight days, more than $800 million in deals are expected to be sealed - on both completed films and those in every stage of development and production - making AFM a must-attend industry event.

All 21 screens on the Santa Monica Promenade and the surrounding community become AFM screening rooms for the entire eight-day event and six digital and video screening rooms are added just for the AFM.

Participants may view more than 700 screenings of approximately 400 films - 28 new films every two hours - the majority of them world or U.S. premieres. Titles range from big budget blockbusters that will be released by the major studios in the U.S., to lower budget art and genre films recognised at international film festivals, all destined for theatre and television around the world.
