Ken Livingstone's vision, and the collaboration of partners in this
project we are able to demonstrate clean, reliable, on-site
energy," said Mark Sperry, Plug Power, Chief Marketing Officer.
"What a great way to celebrate the holiday season by displaying the
promise of fuel cell technology." The GenCore 5T fuel cell system
is currently providing up to 5kW of power to the tree 24 hours a
day. This year the lights only require approximately 4.5kW of power
which is a significant reduction over last year due to the
introduction of new low voltage bulbs that are more energy
efficient. Each year since 1947, the Christmas tree in Trafalgar
Square has been the traditional gift to the people of the United
Kingdom (UK) from the people of Norway as a token of gratitude for
the UK's support of Norway during World War II. This project is
sponsored by the BOC Group plc, a global gas company, Johnson
Matthey a specialty chemicals company and Plug Power. Other
partners in the project included the Greater London Authority, the
London Hydrogen Partnership and siGEN. About GenCore(R)
