Suntron Corporation Announces Its First Lead Free Symposium PHOENIX, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Suntron Corporation (NASDAQ:SUNN), in cooperation with several of its supply chain partners, recently held its first Lead Free Symposium in Andover, MA. The symposium provided a forum for Suntron and their key suppliers to inform original equipment manufactures (OEM's) of the upcoming EU initiatives of restriction of hazardous substances in electronic equipment (ROHS) and waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that will impact electronic manufacturing. Over 70 local managers and engineers from Suntron's leading OEM customers were in attendance. Suntron discussed how its integrated supply chain and full suite of services could assist OEM's in their lead free transition. These services include lead free component evaluation and selection, circuit and PCB design, prototype and process development to support manufacturing as well as reliability testing. "In order to make the lead free transition, PCB design engineers will have new variables to contend with such as higher reflow temperatures as well as board and component finish selection," said Mike Eblin, Chief Operating Officer of Suntron Corporation. "Another critical element of this transition is in the material selection as well as the handling, control, and isolation of these materials. We believe that our Product Design Services organization along with our integrated supply chain partners provide the robust solutions necessary to support this transition."
