Telenor Satellite Services, a subsidiary of Telenor of Norway (Oslo Stock Exchange:TEL and Nasdaq:TELN), today announced that it has received a modification to its existing General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Technology Service (FTS) contract expanding the variety and types of satellite services available to all United States government agencies and authorized government contractors. Announcement of the GSA/FTS contract modification was made by Telenor during the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA-West 2007) conference and exposition in San Diego, California. Under the terms of the newly modified contract, Telenor Satellite Services has added Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service and equipment as well as a complete portfolio of equipment supporting Inmarsat, Iridium, Globalstar and Thuraya satellite services. Additionally, the satellite communications company�s new Emergency Response Deployment Packages -- including fixed and transportable broadband (C and Ku-Band) and mobile, on demand (BGAN) solutions with a full range of accessories -- are now available via the GSA FTS contract vehicle. This is a competitively awarded contract from GSA. As a result, government customers can continue to purchase services directly from Telenor Satellite Services, simplifying the procurement process. The satellite services are available to all civilian and military federal agencies. Other organizations have the potential to access the services through a sponsoring federal agency. �Telenor�s GSA FTS contract is a very efficient way for government purchasers to obtain satellite communications services and equipment,� said Anders Kallerud, executive vice president for sales for Telenor Satellite Services. �A wide range of Telenor�s mobile and broadband offerings are available through this contract at approved government pricing.� This indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract was initially awarded to the company in 2000.
