Tyler solutions to help city modernize and integrate its core business functions

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a contract with the city of Buckeye, Arizona, for Tyler’s EnerGovTM planning, permitting and licensing and Munis® enterprise resources planning (ERP) solutions to replace the city’s legacy financial and community development systems. The contract includes software licenses, related professional services, maintenance and support.

Buckeye, known as an agriculture-friendly community, has grown to become Arizona’s largest city with over 600 square miles. The population has also grown from 4,436 in 1990 to more than 57,000 in 2014. This growth challenged the city’s legacy financial and business systems, which led the city to seek a new ERP solution that could accommodate the city’s current population and business needs while being flexible enough to grow with Buckeye as the city continues to expand.

During a comprehensive review, the city of Buckeye decided that Tyler’s deep public sector expertise, coupled with its proven EnerGov and Munis solutions, would deliver the system modernization the city needed to help streamline workflows, integrate essential business operations, and expand citizen self-service capabilities.

The city also valued Tyler’s evergreen policy because it protects the city’s investment by including software updates and upgrades as part of annual maintenance with no additional license fees.

Tyler’s EnerGov and Munis technology solutions give the city stronger integration across departments, and provide more automation and improved functionalities within its financial management divisions, human resources and payroll departments. Tyler solutions also support print and electronic bill processing, fleet management, planning and zoning, code enforcement, and permitting and inspection functions.

Founded in 1888, Buckeye is the western-most incorporated city in the Valley of the Sun, which is the economic, political, and population center of Arizona and includes the city of Phoenix. The city has more than 500 full- and part-time employees.
