Brionor Resources Inc. ("BRIONOR" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:
BNR) is pleased to announce that it has initiated a 3,000 meter
drill program on the 100% owned Pitt Gold property, located in the
Duparquet Township along the Porcupine-Destor Break (PDB), some 35
km north of Rouyn-Noranda, in the Abitibi region of Quebec.
The Duparquet exploration camp is going to see significant
exploration activity during 2010. Beyond the Brionor exploration
program as further defined below, Osisko Mining Corporation will
invest more than $15 million in exploration in the immediate region
as evidenced by Osisko and Clifton Star Resources in a press
release (dated Dec.11, 2009) announcing the signature of their
Joint Venture Agreement.
The Pitt Gold Property is located some 7 km to the east of the
Osisko-Clifton Star J/V. Since 2005, 46 drill holes have been
completed on the property (28,205 m). Pitt Gold straddles the very
prospective PDB over an east-west distance of 2 km. Several
east-west striking, south dipping gold bearing structures have been
discovered in the eastern portion of the property over a strike
length of approximately 500 m (the remainder of the break being
still very much under explored).
The gold minralization at Pitt Gold consists of zones of
silicification-albitisation-pyritization and quartz stockworks
within a Quartz-Feldspar Porphyry (QFP) intrusion and the
surrounding intermediate volcanics. The mineralization is found
immediately adjacent and to the north of the PDB. The following
table gives a chronological list of some of the more significant
intersections returned to date from prior drilling on the
property;
P-58 9.82 g/t Au over 3.97 m
P-35 10.42 g/t Au over 2.44 m
DQ95-32 19.91 g/t Au over 6.25 m
DQ95-03 35.71 g/t Au over 2.52 m
DQ95-37 13.02 g/t Au over 2.52 m
PG2006-01 82.94 g/t Au over 4.58 m
PG2005-09 36.25 g/t Au over 4.60 m
PG2007-07 35.18 g/t Au over 5.00 m
PG2008-08 11.52 g/t Au over 5.00 m
PG2008-09 9.13 g/t Au over 11.00 m
PG2008-15 12.15 g/t Au over 6.50 m
Of note, the interval obtained in PG2008-15 (12.15 g/t Au over
6.5 m, cut at approximately 250 metres from surface) is entirely
open towards surface.
The company has mobilized a drill rig to complete a 3,000 metre
drill program; the priority of this program is to test the up dip
potential of known gold bearing structures. Additional drilling
might be undertaken to commence testing targets associated with the
PDB break along the central and western portions of the property
which have only been summarily and superficially tested
historically.
The 2010 drilling program is being carried out under the
supervision of Mr. Pierre O'Dowd, geologist and Qualified Person as
per National Instrument 43-101.
Brionor is a junior mining exploration company with a portfolio
of exploration projects including the 100% owned Pitt Gold Project
in Quebec.
