Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. Licenses Its Patented Emission Control
                             Technology to Tenneco

Tenneco Signs Worldwide License Agreement to Offer Clean Diesel's
                               ARIS(R) Technology

Stamford, CT - September 24, 2007 - Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. (EBB: CLDS;
AIM: CDT/CDTS; XETRA: CDI), a global company providing innovative technologies
and solutions that reduce emissions, conserve fuel and improve engine
performance, announced today that it has signed a worldwide, non-exclusive
licensing agreement with Tenneco (NYSE: TEN), a $4.7-billion company that
designs, manufactures and markets emission control and ride control products and
systems for the automotive original equipment market and the aftermarket. Under
the terms of the latest agreement, Clean Diesel will receive upfront fees and
per-unit royalties. Tenneco also acquired from Clean Diesel the assignment of a
license for mobile retrofit emission control applications in on-road and
off-road vehicles, and for other markets including railroad and marine.

These license agreements - which Tenneco entered into in connection with its
recent acquisition of the mobile emissions business of Combustion Components
Associates, Inc. (CCA) - cover mobile applications for Clean Diesel's ARIS(R)
airless reagent injection system and technology, which controls nitrogen oxides
(NOx) emissions through selective catalytic reduction (SCR), and the related
suite of Clean Diesel patents. The licenses also include applications for
hydrocarbon injection for lean NOx traps and for other NOx adsorbers and
catalysts, as well as for diesel particulate filter regeneration.

The new agreement licenses Tenneco to work with Original Equipment Manufacturers
(OEMs) and to serve as the Tier One supplier and systems integrator for
emissions solutions, combining Tenneco's proprietary products and technologies
with ARIS. The suite of licensed patents includes Clean Diesel's exhaust gas
recirculation (EGR) technique used in combination with SCR to minimize engine
emissions while simultaneously improving fuel efficiency.

"This agreement is another indication that Clean Diesel's patented technology is
gaining steady traction in the global marketplace. We will continue to offer
highly synergistic licensing opportunities with innovative industry leaders such
as Tenneco," said Bernhard Steiner, President and CEO of Clean Diesel. "This
agreement with Tenneco is part of a series of global licensing agreements
executed this year for our Company's technologies. As the world looks to apply
new solutions that will control oxides of nitrogen, particulate matter and
carbon dioxide emissions, while also reducing fossil fuel consumption, it will
be the wide scale deployment and adoption of patented platform technologies like
ours that will make a real impact."
