New Investment in Series A of Alesta Therapeutics

RTW Biotech Opportunities Ltd (the "Company"), a London Stock Exchange-listed investment company focused on identifying transformative assets with high growth potential across the life sciences sector, is pleased to note a new portfolio company investment in Alesta Therapeutics ("Alesta"), a Netherlands-based biotechnology company committed to developing novel oral small molecule therapies for underserved rare diseases. Alesta announced the completion of its €65 million (US$67 million) Series A financing round, in which the Company participated alongside other investment vehicles managed by RTW Investments, LP (the "Investment Manager"). The funds will enable Alesta to advance its lead asset toward clinical proof of concept and accelerate the development of a second asset.

Alesta's lead asset, ALE1, is being developed for hypophosphatasia (HPP), a rare genetic disorder with significant unmet needs. It is also advancing ALE2, a promising candidate to treat Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease.
