--Alphabet's Google and the Canadian government have reached an agreement in a dispute over the country's recently enacted Online News Act, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.

--The agreement would see Canadian news continue to be shared on Google's platforms in exchange for the company making annual payments to news companies in the range of 100 million Canadian dollars (US$73.7 million), the report said.

--The federal agreement and the company agreed on the regulatory framework earlier in the week, the person familiar said, according to the report.
