MEDecision, Inc. (Nasdaq: MEDE), a leading provider of
collaborative health care management solutions, today named George
J. Marshalek, Jr., Senior Vice President, Client Operations. Mr.
Marshalek joins MEDecision from Childrens Hospital of
Philadelphia, where he was Vice President of Information Services.
With the tremendous products that MEDecision has launched this
year, and with what many foresee as rapid expansion in
collaborative health care management, it is crucial for MEDecision
to bring in professionals who can use Alineo and Nexalign as the
foundation for outstanding client solutions, said David St.Clair,
Founder and CEO of MEDecision. With Georges expertise in health
care information services and project management, we feel he can
make a real contribution in terms of addressing our clients needs
through a solution-based approach that focuses on standardized
approaches to implementation and systems integration. Mr.
Marshalek will oversee MEDecisions Client Operations and manage
ongoing projects with a specific emphasis on client service. He
will also manage the information technology team charged with
maintaining the ASP operations for MEDecisions clients. He brings
to MEDecision more than 30 years of progressive, solution-oriented
experience in vendor, consulting, payer and provider environments.
He has gained expertise working in small, entrepreneurial
environments; with mid-size companies; and with large health care
organizations. Mr. Marshalek takes over for Mary Jo Timlin-Hoag,
who will be leaving the company. At Childrens Hospital of
Philadelphia, Mr. Marshalek oversaw technology deployment and
management for one of the worlds leading pediatric health care
systems. He was responsible for more than 250 employees in the
Information Services operation, including Applications, Web
Services, End User Support Center, Desktop Services,
Infrastructure, Integration Services and BI/Decision Support. He
was instrumental in helping Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia
achieve leadership in the deployment and use of advanced,
enterprise-wide clinical systems. Mr. Marshalek earned a BS in
Math/Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University and an MS
in Computer Information Sciences from Villanova University. He has
served as a board member of the Penn State College of Science. The
arrival of Mr. Marshalek marks a transition from MEDecisions
intense focus on technology development to client-centered
implementation and integration. As part of that transition, Ronald
D. Nall, Executive Vice President and CIO, is stepping down from
his position. Mr. Nall oversaw product development, which was
largely completed with the launch of Alineo and Nexalign earlier
this year. For more information about MEDecision, please visit
