Cairn Energy PLC (CNE.LN) said Wednesday that a well drilled by Equinor ASA (EQNR.OS) on production license 885, in which the U.K. company has a 30% interest, has been plugged and abandoned.

The British oil and gas company said Equinor, the operator of the license, drilled the wild cat 36/1-3 well on the Petro prospect but determined that it was dry.
