The U-Haul® center at 400 Orchard Drive in West Columbia, which had been a full-service facility for 42 years, has closed several services and become a remotely operated facility. The transition was completed today.

As a result of closing services at U-Haul Moving & Storage of West Columbia, six Team Members were let go.

The Orchard Drive facility will continue to serve customers with self-storage, truck rentals, moving supplies, and a U-Box® portable storage containers while being operated by parent store U-Haul Moving & Storage of Cayce at 1500 Charleston Highway, just two miles away.

Services halted at the Orchard Drive store include trailer and towing equipment rentals; truck sales; profession hitch instillations; pre-tow inspections; and support rental items. All of these services and more are available at the U-Haul of Cayce facility.

Local U-Haul Companies are always exploring opportunities for growth as they pursue means to better serve the needs of customers, but sometimes find it necessary to close or relocate stores, shops, offices and services.
