cannabis is today announced the appointment of Onekanew (Chief)
Christian Sinclair to the board of
directors of the Company.
Chief Sinclair is a member and current Chief of
the Opaskwayak Cree Nation and co-chair of Manitoba's Northern Economic
Development Strategy. Since 2002, he has worked with
indigenous groups across Canada
and the United States, focused on
corporate development for major natural resource projects
related to hydro, mining, oil and gas. Also, he is one of the
youngest recipients of the Top 40 under 40 executives in
Canada, awarded in 2003.
Chief Sinclair is well connected and regarded by the
First Nations communities throughout Manitoba and Canada, linking together in development
and partnerships with Indigenous communities.
The Company also announced today the resignation of Dr.
John Gillis as a director of the
Company effective January 26, 2018.
Since joining the Board, Dr. Gillis has assisted in founding and
developing the NAC business and recently elected to step down to
focus on his executive roles in other ventures in the industry.
Going forward, Dr. Gillis will continue his association with NAC as
a consultant and will provide key strategic advice to the Company.
